Quality Research in Dementia
Quality Research in Dementia (QRD) is the award winning research grants programme of the Alzheimer's Society. Quality Research in Dementia influences the direction of basic scientific research, care practice, health and social policy for the benefit of people with dementia and their families.
Focusing on the three key areas, cause, care and cure, our research covers the effectiveness of drugs, therapies and care practices, and the health and social impact of dementia on carers and the community at large. The programme also funds and evaluates research on the basic science of dementias and contributes to the long-term search for prevention, treatments and cure.
Our research programme actively involves people with dementia and their carers in setting the research agenda, awarding grants and assessing outcomes.
